Integrate Media in a One-Step!

Challenge students to integrate media to create a school handout or website link called “The Neighborhood”

List all the neighborhood features you want to include:

Maps

Sketches and/or photos

Shortcuts

Tips

Bicycle parking and rules

Playgrounds

Animals

Food

Anecdotes

Stepping it up?

Ask people of different ages what newcomers need to know in a new town or neighborhood.

If you assemble a package, send a copy to your Board of Education, your local Chamber of Commerce, etc.

Produce a DVD for Welcome/Information packages.

Produce audio or video clips or podcast for school website.

Create an Update Committee to review and keep this material up-to-date.
